How To Get A Discount: Disney World Vacations Tips and TricksWith all that cash you’ve poured into planning and preparing your trip to Walt Disney World, you may have forgotten all the little things that also come with a trip to Disney world. Transportation, souvenirs… these things add up! To help you out with saving money on your trip, here are a few ways to save some money and take advantage of discount Disney World vacations savings. Every bit you save adds up! 1) Share Expenses: one great way to save money on your trip is to team up with another family and share some of your expenses. When you share expenses with others, things like renting a minivan for the whole trip or staying in a spacious condo with luxurious amenities suddenly are within your price range! Simply share the driving responsibilities, and switch for the Master bedroom halfway through the trip. Also, when you travel with friends, it adds a new dynamic to the whole vacation – and where there’s kids involved, they’ll have a great time playing with each other. 2) Looking for Souvenirs? Try Mickey’s Mart: let’s face it, everyone likes souvenirs. But there’s a place in Downtown Disney that has some fantastic deals on overstock from the previous year, as well as a lot of fantastic sales on things like mugs, plush toys, and little key chains or picture frames. If you go early, this will help to cure the ‘need’ for more stuff that you feel when walking around the theme parks. Try a surprise bag for the kids if they’re unsure about choosing just one thing! 3) Use a Disney Photopass: all across the theme parks, there are photographers waiting to take your picture with Mickey, by special monuments, and when you get off rides. After they take your picture, they’ll hand you something called a Photopass that links all of the pictures of you that were taken by all the photographers in the park into one online photo album. When you go to the designated site, you can view and order your photos there. The best Photopass deal is to purchase all the photos on a CD for one low price. It can hold up to 500 photos, and you’ll be able to view and print your photos as often as you want without copyright restrictions. 4) Parking: parking in Orlando can become expensive, so you should be aware that if you’re a guest at a Disney resort or an annual pass holder, you’ll be able to park at Walt Disney World for free. Regular priced at the theme parks is $10 per day, but the great thing is that you can leave and come back on the same day if you wish, as long as you show your receipt upon returning to the park. 5) Check Newspapers and Websites for Discounts: some of the best Walt Disney World vacation deals are found in newspaper advertisements or in faxes received by your travel agent. Be sure to ask your agent if she’s received any faxes from Disney lately, and visit your local library for access to a wide variety of newspapers from across the country – flip through the travel section and take a close look at the ads! There may be codes for discounts on accommodations, entrance fee, a dining plan or so on! Be patient and keep looking until you find something. |
